GLRC provides the following medical services to both current clients and community members:
The Negaunee Integrated Care Clinic offers dermatology services once a month to all members of the community. Individuals do not need to be receiving other GLRC services to attend the dermatology clinic.
Examples of conditions managed by the dermatology clinic include:
Hepatitis C is a liver disease that can be life-threatening if left untreated. As a communicable disease, it can be transmitted to others. However, Hepatitis C is curable.
GLRC providers can assist adults with screening for this condition and, if diagnosed, provide treatment or an appropriate referral. Hepatitis C treatment is available at both the Marquette and Negaunee outpatient clinics.
Medication-assisted treatment, when combined with counseling, has been shown to be effective in treating opioid use disorders. GLRC’s Medication-Assisted Treatment clinic provides medications that help manage cravings and reduce the physical effects of substance use.
Buprenorphine-based medications are considered a best practice for treating opioid dependence. GLRC believes that, when combined with comprehensive, evidence-based therapies, a continuum of supportive services, and strong program oversight, medication-assisted treatment can be an effective pathway to recovery—reducing the negative impact of opioid use for individuals and the community.
The target population for this program includes adult clients experiencing moderate to severe opioid and/or alcohol use disorders. Clients are thoroughly screened to assess risk and determine appropriateness for the program. Only individuals who are able to comply with all program requirements and guidelines will be accepted for treatment.
Ostomies are used to treat a variety of health conditions and may be temporary or permanent. GLRC staff will support you through every step of your ostomy journey—from preoperative assessment to surgery, aftercare, and recovery.
In many cases, ostomies improve health and help individuals return to enjoying life after serious illness. GLRC staff can also assist with logistical concerns, such as ordering supplies; identifying caregiver networks; addressing dietary considerations; and providing emotional support and advocacy—all while taking into account your lifestyle, responsibilities, goals, interests, and aspirations.
