OS Reentry Services

Everyone deserves the opportunity for a second chance, and the OS Reentry Services program is dedicated to providing that opportunity. The OS Reentry Services program serves all 15 counties of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, also known as Region 1. The program provides case management services to help meet Returning Citizens’ basic needs and support successful community reentry.
OS Reentry Services are available only to Returning Citizens under the supervision of the State of Michigan. Program eligibility is determined by the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC), and services are provided based on referrals from MDOC Parole Agents.

Mission

The mission of the Michigan Offender Success Model is to create a safer Michigan by holding clients accountable while promoting their success.

Vision

Through innovative programming and case management, the vision of the Michigan Offender Success Model is to provide every client knowledge, skills, resources, and opportunities to be successful and productive members of the community.

How is This Accomplished?

The mission is achieved by providing services that address the identified needs of returning clients, reducing recidivism risk and improving education and employment opportunities. OS Reentry Services employs specialists to ensure all counties have adequate services and vendors to support returning citizens. They also build relationships with employers to create job opportunities and coordinate job placement for program participants.

Substance Use Disorder Services

reat Lakes Recovery Centers believes that substance use disorder is a disease that affects individuals, families, and communities, and that there are multiple pathways to recovery. This condition is best treated through a range of services provided by caring professionals, along with support from family, support systems, and the community.

In addition to substance use disorder clinical services, GLRC also offers Peer Recovery and Recovery Housing.

GLRC’s OS Reentry Services has officially been approved as a Michigan Veteran Connector through the Michigan Veterans Affair Agency and will be receiving materials for our Specialists to distribute to clients with prior military service to connect them with available services.

Advisory Council

The Advisory Council’s purpose is to help strengthen the OS Reentry Services program and to create a stronger base for community support. These meetings can also be a way to provide public/community education and input for the program. Meetings are held virtually and on a quarterly basis.

Regional Steering Team

The Regional Steering Team provides planning and oversight for the OS Reentry Services program. Community Stakeholders and MDOC Representatives from across the Upper Peninsula come together to collaborate and develop solutions for programming and job development efforts. Meetings are held virtually and on a quarterly basis.
